Two Central Reserve Police Force personnel were killed and two others injured in a military ambush in North Kashmir's Sopore Wednesday afternoon.
Four policemen were killed in a militant ambush at Haigam, located close to Sopore town, in north Kashmir on Friday afternoon. A senior police officer said militants fired indiscriminately at a police vehicle at Haigam killing all four policemen -- a head constable, two special police officers and the driver -- on the spot.
The army had to had to aim at the crowd when jawans claimed to have been fired upon from the other side.
Curfew was relaxed for three hours in parts of north Kashmir's Sopore town, 55 km from Srinagar, on Friday morning, a police spokesman said.
As many as 160 terrorists were killed and 102 arrested in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.
